About

I'm Wouter, the one person behind Eyeball Engineering. I'm a 3D printing hobbyist with a professional background in safety and security, hands-on full-stack engineering experience and a long-running obsession with practical mechanisms. Everything I know about engineering I learned by building, running into problems, failing and redesigning.

Mechams started when I wanted multi-colour printing and wasn't willing to pay the premium for a box of motors, so I built a fully printable mechanical system that uses the printer's own movement. Eyeball Engineering is where that work lives now: Mechams, the RoBoBoB desktop application and engineering services. It's just me, so I answer your emails myself.

Mechams

Mechams is what I sell today: an eight-filament system for the Bambu Lab A1 and A1 mini with no motors, no boards and no firmware of its own. When the toolhead rises into one of the slots on top of the printer, two gears mesh and the printer's own extruder drives that slot.

Version 2 is lighter than the first one, easier to route, quicker and more reliable, and the body prints without supports. Everything about it is on mech-ams.com.

RoBoBoB

I'm also building RoBoBoB, a desktop AI app that used to be called Oversight. The idea hasn't changed: it should be the only application you need open. It isn't out yet.

Work with me

Companies can hire me for engineering work too. I'll do the hands-on design and build work, advise your team or your executives, or run the project. Every job is priced on its own.

Tell me what you're working on at support@eyeball.engineering. I usually reply within one to three business days.
